HOME MEET VS. KINGSMILL SHARKS 6/30

    Happpyyy Sunday!

Whew...last week was...one for the books. ☀️ It was miserably hot, the water was... also miserably hot, but we powered through like champs. Sorry, not LIKE champs, we WERE the champs!

The good news? This week should be slightly less sweaty, and the water situation is looking up now that the water cannon is back in action.

This Week: Gators vs. Kingsmill Sharks 🐊🦈Get your Zzzz's tonight and keep those Gators hydrated tomorrow. We will also have some amazing posters on display! Thanks again to Sheila for getting everyone together today.

Melissa is also putting together the Gator breakfast items for tomorrow, so please contribute if you can: Venmo: @MrsMabs

    🏊 Athlete Arrival

    • Swimmers arrive by 4:30 PM for warm-ups.
    • Swim deck setup is for swimmers ONLY. If your child is old enough, we prefer that they stay on deck with the coaches during the meet. If they sit in the field with you, please pay extra close attention to events information and when the coaches are calling for athletes.
    • Clerk of Course - You are all pros at this now. Drop and goooooo..
    • Please write event/heat/lane info on your swimmer’s hand!

    Volunteers

    • Please check in with Brittany upon arrival.
    • Grill Masters: Arrive by 4:15 PM.
    • First session concessions: Head over by 4:30 PM—those swimmers come out of warm-ups hungry.
    • Second session: Jobs switch after breaststroke (event 30). Please be ready to step in!

HELP NEEDED in the following areas:

    🚨 2nd Session Clerk of Course 🚨

This is a BIG MEET, and we need TWO people running Clerk of Course for the second session. Right now, we’ve got one brave soul signed up… and that’s it.

We will NOT start the meet until this position is filled. It's already going to be a long one and we will all just sit there, staring at each other, sweating through our clothes, wondering who’s going to blink first and volunteer. Dramatic? Maybe. I have a flair for the dramatic.

    Set up and Tear Down

As Coach Jenna said, we also need some help for set up and tear down. If you haven't met your volunteer requirement yet, this is a great opportunity! Otherwise, we will have to start paying teens to do it. How will we pay them, you ask? Well, we will have to start assessing fees. No one wants that! Please sign up if you can!

There are families who really struggle to meet the volunteer requirements, and we appreciate that you make it happen. There are also families with older-ish kids who don't have to chase their Gators around all night. If this is you and you have the capacity to help when you see a hole, please know we need you to do that AND we apprecaite it.

    Alright, volunteer rant over.

    Spectator Tent/Chair Setup

    • Parents and spectators will set up in the field.
    • Do NOT place tents directly against the fence—we need a walkway. If you do, we’ll kindly ask you to move.
    • Our team needs access to the outlets for gear so please bring battery-operated fans only.
    • Please do not set up tents before 12PM!

    🍔 Gator Grill

One of the best parts of Monday meets? You don’t have to cook dinner!
Julie Grimm and her awesome concessions crew will be ready to feed you.

    🐊 Additional Reminders

    • Trash: Please pick up allllll trash before heading out (including your swimmer's area on deck). If your swimmer wants to keep their Gator poster, please have them take it down on your way home!
    • Sunscreen & Bug Spray: You’ll need it. You’ll want it.
    • Bathrooms: You know the deal - deck only.
    • If you still have not picked up your t-shirt, feel free to pick them up before the meet in the clubhouse.

As always, if you have any questions - don't hesitate to reach out!

See you at the swamp. GO GATORS!! 💚💦
