Two important updates here. One - shirts. Two - some needs we have for next year.

But more important than these shirts, is making sure you have ordered your GATORS TIE DYE SHIRT DUE TODAY. So nice, I had to remind you twice. 

2025 Board Nominations will be going out next week! As Eileen said, we need 2-3 NEW Gator Board Members. 

I (Cassie) have spent a lot of time this year talking with other teams to get some ideas how THEY do things. Some teams are more efficient than ours and some are less efficient than ours. The more efficient teams have parents who "own" certain responsibilities. That is what we need to move to. SO MANY OF you are amazing and come up and ask, "How can I help!?" at every single meet. Phil Wagner and Josef Rosler, here's looking at you (and many more I know I'm not mentioning). It's sometimes hard to respond because while the load can be heavy, there are details that can't be transferred in a quick interaction. 

Below are some needs that we need people to jump in and fill so we have an AMAZING 2025 swim season. Not all require you to be on the Gators Board. 

Ribbons We need two people to oversee the ribbons process. Ideally, I (Cassie) would like to train two people to be the ribbons gurus. This means your primary volunteer positions for the year would be ribbons (though not always for away meets - that's much easier than doing it for home meets).  You do not need to be a Board member for this.

Events. We need someone who can oversee events. We woud love for this person to be a Board member so you know all of the information, but that would be YOUR THING - to make sure our Gator events go off without a hitch (Get to Know the Gators, Team Breakfast, Tie Dye Event, support the team cookout, Awards Banquet). You would not have to volunteer at ANY MEETS if you do this. Ideally, this is someone who does not work full time during the day or at least has a flexible schedule as our events set up / prep sometimes takes place outside of normal 9-5.

Scoring We need another two committed scoring peeps. I don't mind doing it, but I have missed way too many of my kid's swim events because I've been scoring both sessions at all meets. You don't have to be a Board member for this, but you would need to commit to scoring for one session (not both) at the meets and not doing other volunteer positions. It's not difficult, but it does take a bit of training. 

Volunteer Point Person - We need someone who can manage volunteer check in at meets. This person would make sure all volunteers are signed in, stopwatches are handed out, clerk of course volunteers have their sheets, and communicating holes that are still needing to be filled ON SITE (if we don't have someone signed up). This doesn't have to be a Board member.

There may be more outlined in the email next week, but these are needs we will have next year and we would like to know who these people will be.
