July 8th Swim Meet HOME VS Windsor Forest Frogs

    Happy Inferno Gators,

Hard to believe this is our 4th swim meet!

This home meet is going to be HOT HOT HOT. Read on for important meet information against the Windsor Forest Frogs. Make sure your Gator babies are drinking lottssssss of water tomorrow before the meet.

We have volunteer holes that must be filled, so the jobs for this meet have been opened (info below).

First (and this actually is important...for the well being of your tents), the grass outside the pool is getting cut tomorrow. This means, NO TENTS CAN BE SET UP BEFORE 12 PM. If they are, they will be eaten by a zero turn and I won't cry for you, Argentina.

Athlete Arrival: 4:30 PM for wam-ups - swimmers ONLY may set up their personal items on the swim deck. If your child is old enough, we prefer for the kids to all be on deck with the coaches during the meet. Our swimmers set up under the trellis thingy where all the round tables are. Please be sure event information is written on hands! If you don't know what this means, the coaches will help your first time Gator at practice or before the meet.

Spectator Tent/Chair Set Up: Parents and spectators set up in the field. PLEASE DO NOT SET YOUR TENT UP DIRECTLY AGAINST THE FENCE - WE NEED A WALKING PATH. If you do, we will ask you to move. Also, our team needs the outlets for gear set up so any fans you bring need to battery operated.

Volunteers: You will be checking in up at the clubhouse this year where the scoring table is located (through the middle doors that lead down to the pool). Please check in at least 30 minutes PRIOR to the start of the meet, even if you are a second session volunteer (or at least let me know that you may be checking in late).

    VOLUNTEER NEEDS:

There are volunteer spots that have to be filled before we can start the meet. If you've satisfied the original volunteer committment, we thank you. However, as I said last week - that isn't going to be enough. Next year we will see volunteer requirement changes implemented to meet the demands of having a smaller team, but for now - we just need you to step up and help. These are all easy jobs and can be quickly explained before the start of the meet.

Scorers - I need help first AND second session at the scoring table (positive note - it's in the AC!)

Second Session Runner - we need a second half runner. We will NOT be starting the meet until we have someone signed up because it's way to hot out for this to be a one person job.

Tear Down: We have no one signed up, so we are going to make this an all in effort at the meet, so if your swimmer is in a relay we would really appreciate you sticking around to help tear down the deck and set up the pool chairs for use tomorrow.

Second Session Clerk of Course: If you are available, pleas help out with wrangling the kids!

Second Session Ribbons: In the AC!

Thank you in advance for helping! It would be nice to see some families who have NOT already racked up two or three or four or five extra volunteer shifts step up for these.

Set Up Crew: Please find me (Cassie) when you arrive at the pool at 3:30PM - I will have a set up list for you to use.

Timers/Sweeps Judges: please listen for the timers meeting to be called about 15 minutes before the start of the meet. If you are a first session timer, please do NOT leave until the second session person has relieved you. If someone doesn't show, we will find them. Second session timers, please do not leave your first session timer hanging!

First Session Concessions People: Please go to concessions by 4:30PM. Those swimmers come in HUNGRY after warm ups.

Second Session People: We switch jobs over after breaststroke (event 30) - please be paying attention and be ready to take over for the first session peeps.

    Additional Reminders:

Trash: Please make sure you and your athlete pick up ALLLLLL the trash around you and them before you take off for the night.

Sunscreen / Bug Spray: YOU WILL NEED IT YOU WILL WANT IT.

Bathrooms: The please do not use the inside bathroom in the clubhouse does actually mean that....unless you are volunteering to come back and clean those bathrooms the next day. Thank you for using the outside bathrooms.

See you at the swamp and GO GATORS!!
