It's a long one....per usual. Typing fast, please excuse errors! 

Photo Request: Before we get into the Awards Meet info, the Banquet committee has a request. They would LOVE to have at least one great picture on display of each and every swimmer at our banquet, but we need your help to do that! Please look through your or Josef's photos and send ONE great photo of your swimmer(s) to our Gators email to be printed: [email protected] by Wednesday, July 26th. If you have multiple swimmers, you can do one for each swimmer or one of them together, however you want to do it. 

OK, Awards Meet Info: 

To tag onto Coach Jenna's email, here is some additional information for the Awards Meet on Saturday. Also, don't forget those awesome tie dye shirts you worked so hard on last night. This is your PSA to wash those today! Instructions were posted on the FB page by our lovely Brittany Ainsley. Thanks to the tie dye volunteers and our coaches who did such an amazing job. 

Warm Up Arrival: Please be there by 7PM for 10& Under (warm ups at 7:30) and 11:30 for 11 & Up (warm ups at 12:00PM). Swimmer info should now show in your Swimtopia. Please have info. written on swimmer's hands when you arrive. Heat sheets also attached. 

Location: YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO THROUGH THE FRONT GATE - YOU WILL BE THERE FOREVER IF EVERONE DOES. PLEASE READ! There is a great access to FC right off News Rd (like your heading to Target on the left)  Ford’s Colony Westbury Pool Address: 230 Westbury Hills, Williamsburg VA, 23188 Directions: All Ford’s Colony gates will be open from 6:30am-8:30am for our morning session and 11:00am to 1:15pm for our afternoon session. Once these gates are closed you will need to access the pool from Ford’s Colony’s main gate, you will be unable to get into the neighborhood through any other gate. To access this gate you will need to take Longhill Rd to Ford’s Colony Dr and then take a left on John Potts Dr. Inform the guard you are here for the summer awards meet. 

SET UP: See the attached map of tent city. Greensprings Gators tents will be set up the night before so come look for us when you arrive. We will have some coolers with ice and drinks, but please also bring some of your own.  PLEASE bring what is necessary to your swimmer only because we will be packed in their like little sardines. Leave space for others, make space for others. Don't drag huge wagons into the tent (you can bring them, just leave those outside the tent so our swimmers and families have shade).

FOOD: There will be food trucks - take advantage of that or bring your own. .

Quick Board Nomination Info

Just some quick additional information regarding Board nominations for you to consider. We are looking for people to join our board for their valuable input and to have a ton of fun with us, but also we would like people who may be interested in taking ownership in these areas: 

Team Apparel / Merch: Oversee the TYR apparel / merch orders and handle distribution. Rachel did an amazing job getting this going last year, but she is already super busy with concessions so we would love for another potential board member to help handle this. 

Spirit / Special Events: We need someone to serve as the point of contact for all the fun events we do. You would oversee volunteers who sign up to help as well as express your creative freedom to decorate / spirit it up at swim meets if you so choose. We all pitch in to help with these, we just need a leader. Events include: Meet the Gators (March/early April), Gator Parade (early May), Gator's Cookout (June -concessions also helps with this as concessions provides our food), Tie Dye Party (July) and Team Awards Banquet (end of July). 

Team Money Person: Dhiren has been doing this for a few years now and after next year would like to pass the torch. If you have experience in money ish or are just really good at monopoly and want to learn the ropes this year, join our Board and work with Dhiren with the intent to carry on the torch for another few years. It's a big job, but we know someone out there would love to do this. 

It really is a fun group to join and we are a bit crazy, but we LOVE making summer swim great for our kids. Please be advised it IS a busy 8 weeks in the summer. You see how much we do. Also, don't use me (Cassie) as an example to deter you. I'm really an introvert and much prefer work to socializing. Our entire board works VERY hard, but I use it as a social avoidance. Don't worry, my therapist knows.  Please refer to Rob's communication with additional information and send your nominations to : [email protected].
