6/26 Home Meet Information VS Ford's Colony
Happy Sunny Sunday Gator Families!
We hope everyone is enjoying this sunshine. Tonight we are going to need your swimmers to put their swimsuits on inside out and backwards and chant STAY AWAY STORMS three times while spinning in a circle. It's our version of the snow dance...
We are aware there is a possibility for severe storms, but we will keep an eye on the weather and our meet officials, along with Coach Jenna, will be communicating any updates you need to know via email and on our Facebook page. However, no news is good news and we hope to swim, so here's all the info you need for tomorrow. PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
Athlete Arrival: 4:30 PM for wam-ups - swimmers ONLY may set up their personal items on the swim deck. If your child is old enough, we prefer for the kids to all be on deck with the coaches during the meet. Our swimmers set up under the trellis thingy where all the round tables are. Please be sure event information is written on hands!
Spectator Tent/Chair Set Up: Parents and spectators set up in the field. PLEASE DO NOT SET YOUR TENT UP DIRECTLY AGAINST THE FENCE - WE NEED A WALKING PATH. If you do, we will ask you to move. Also, our team needs the outlets for gear set up so any fans you bring need to battery operated. You all did a fantastic job with setting up last week!
Volunteers: You will be checking in at the VOLUNTEER CHECK IN TENT with Jenn Ericsson our Volunteer Meet Director starting at 4:45PM . Please check in as soon as you arrive regardless of first or second session. The tent will be located right at the front entrance to the pool - you can't miss it. Please be ready to go in your volunteer spot on time so we don't have to call your name on the speakers....avoid the walk of shame.
Set Up Crew: Please find me (Cassie) when you arrive at the pool at 3:30PM - I will have a set up list for you to use.
Timers: please listen for the timers meeting to be called about 15 minutes before the start of the meet. If you are a first session timer, please do NOT leave until the second session person has relieved you. If someone doesn't show, we will find them. Second session timers, please do not leave your first session timer hanging!
First Session Concessions People: Please go to concessions by 4:45PM. Last week those swimmers were hungry and trying to knock down the doors Walking Dead style after their warm ups.
Second Session People: We switch jobs over after breaststroke (event 30) - please be paying attention and be ready to take over for the first session peeps.
Additional Reminders:
Trash: Thank you for doing such a great job picking up around your swimmers! I know the tear down team really appreciates this. Let's do it again tomorrow!
Sunscreen / Bug Spray: YOU WILL NEED IT YOU WILL WANT IT. Told you so. Ironically, I forgot mine and had to get sprayed down by some nice parents.
Bathrooms: The please do not use the inside bathroom in the clubhouse does actually mean that....unless you are volunteering to come back and clean those bathrooms the next day. Thank you for using the outside bathrooms.
The first meet is always the most hectic as we work out kinks, and you guys did a great job! Please know, if you have questions about ANYTHING - don't hesitate to reach out to Coach Jenna or a Gators board member. We try to cover a lot in these communications, but there's only so much a 27 paragraph email can do.
See you at the swamp and GO GATORS!!!
