Good Morning Gator Families! 

It's almost heeeerreeee....our first swim meet. This is a FRIENDSHIP meet, so it will be a great way to start the season, especially if you are new to swim. First meets are ALWAYS the most chaotic. Please read this entire communication. 

Volunteer Updates: We still have some holes in our meets that need to be filled. We WILL be assessing fees this year for those who do not meet their required shift times. It is $75 PER SHIFT. The reason it is so high is because swimming is the most volunteer intensive sport out there. We literally cannot do this without you. Last year a lot of families worked well over their shift requirement and we did NOT assess fees. We were kind. We were gracious. This year, we are not going to do that...though we still love you.  Everyone needs to pitch in. The job sign ups will remain open until tomorrow - I have extented them to allow for people to sign up to meet their requirment. 

OK - now on to the FUN STUFF. FRIDAY MEET INFORMATION!

Location: 201 Charter House Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

Parking and Set Up: There is a parking lot and if that fills up, parking on the surrounding streets is available. There is some area on the pool deck parents can sit and also a lawn for chairs, blankets, tents, etc. 

Warm Ups Arrival Time: 5:00PM PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SWIMMER HAS THEIR EVENT / HEAT / LANE writtin on hands. Coaches can do this at practice Friday AM. Information will also be available on Swimtopia App Friday when the meet entry is finalized. 

Concessions: There are concessions available. We usually have hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, candy, ice pops and drinks (water, soda, gatorade) for sale. We do have the Polar Snow ice truck booked for 6/16. They accept cash and Venmo. I'm sure the polar ice takes cards. 

VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS MEET: 

As SOON as you arrive, please check in with Eileen Edgerton, Volunteer Meet Director. Jen Ericsson is normally in this role and will be for the rest of the season, but on Friday you need to look for Eileen.  She will have the green REAL SWIM MOMS OF GREENSPRINGS tank top on and a very official looking clipboard. Find her and get your volunteer label first thing. We need to make sure everyone is there. If you are working second session, please still check in when you get there. Also, please pay attention to the announcement for when the timers meeting is - usually about 15 minutes before the meet. Scorers and ribbons people will be in the clubhouse. If you have any questions - please ask!

Finally, to help out the kid's prepare for swim meets we will be running a mock swim meet during practice tomorrow (Thursday). If you have a 10 & Under swimmer - even if they are in Rookies - please try to have them at the pool tomorrow at 5PM. It will be great practice for them. We can utlize older kids as timers, so please still send them to practice!
