Happy Friday Gator Families, 

We are super excited for our 2023 swim season! 

We are doing things a bit differently this year. The volunteer job sign ups will open on Monday, May 15th at 8PM and CLOSE on Monday, June 12th at 9PM. This means you will need to sign up for all of your volunteer shifts prior to the start of the season. 

We have created some professionally produced videos (sarcasm) on most of the volunteer jobs and those can be found on the Greenspring Gators website home page.

There are two jobs that will require some additional training, Scorers and Stroke and Turn Officials. Information on those training sessions will be coming soon and we will email those who sign up for these positions directly. Volunteering as a scorer is not complicated and you get to be inside with the A/C - woohoo. If you worked this position last year, we would love to have you sign up again this year.

We are also in need of a meet announcer for our three home meets. If you are comfortable on a microphone and would be available for this job - please reach out to us. This would satisfy all of your volunteer requirements for the summer. 

In addition, there are a few options to sign up to help with team events to satisfy those volunteer requirements. This is a good option for people who may find it difficult to volunteer during the meets. 

The most important thing to do right now is to make sure you have downloaded the Swimtopia App and are able to log in on your phone. You can also log in through a computer on the website, but we do recommend getting the app on your phone. There is a free version and a paid version. The paid version gives you more information on your swimmer and their times throughout the summer swim season. You do *not* need the paid version to sign up for jobs. 

As a reminder, 

1 swimmer = 5 volunteer shifts 

2+ swimmers = 6 volunteer shifts

*If you sign up for Little Kickers only, you will NOT have volunteer requirements
