Away Swim Meet at Ford's Colony Killer Whales, Monday, June 27th

    Good Sunday Morning!

Tomorrow is our first AWAY meet against the Ford's Colony Killer Whales. Here is some information for you as you plan for tomorrow's meet. Some important info here regarding weather, so read all the way to the end.

Arrival Time: 5:00PM (allow some extra time to get through the guard gate)

You will need to go through the main gate at Ford' Colony : 100 John Pott Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188. The main guard gate will be on your left hand side (don't continue all the way down John Pott or you'll end up at the golf course). Tell security you're here for a swim meet.

Address for the Westbury Pool: 230 Westbury Hills, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Don't enter this address in your GPS to get to Ford's Colony because it may direct you to a residence only entrance - you need to go to the main entrance first and THEN plug in this address. There are also signs directing to the pool, so you should be good - just follow the trail Gator cars.

Parking attendants should be on site to help park in grass area. FC says there is plenty of shade so tents are not necessary, but you do need to bring your own seating.

Ford's Colony also has concessions, so plan to eat at the meet! Concessions is a huge fundraiser for teams, so let's support them in this. They will take cash or check. If Polor Snow is there, they do accept credit.

Now the fun part, we need........VOLUNTEERS! I know, you didn't see that coming :) We can either fill these holes now, or wait until we are on site tomorrow, which could delay the meet start. It's already going to be a late one, so let's not hang around in the ol' FC longer than we have to.

For this away meet we still need:

    • 2 first half clerk of course, 1 second half clerk of course
    • 1 first half timer, 8 second half timers
    • 1 fist half ribbons, 3 second half ribbons
    • 1 first half scorer, 2 second half scorers

Please sign up ASAP - will be sending volunteer information email out later today.

Weather Updates: There is a chance of storms in the forecast for tomorrow evening. This can result in a meet delay or possible cancellation if it's ongoing with no chance of stopping. Meet officials will make the determinations regarding weather according policy. Typically, if we have to cancel or stop mid meet due to storms, we will resume on Tuesday evening.

Our team will communicate information in two ways, the Greensprings Gators Facebook page and email communication via Swimtopia (like this one). Until you receive communication, assume everything is on schedule.

Ok, this is the end....congrats on making it here.

Thanks to you all and let's beat those Killer Whales!! Go Gators!!
