June 20th Home Meet Vs. Kingswood Klams

    Good Morning Gator Families!

Monday the 20th we host the Kingswood Klams at the Swamp. This week we swim for points!

    Summer Swim Facts for Parents:

    • It takes 70 volunteer positions from our team alone to successfully run a home swim meet.
    • It takes 38 volunteer positions from our team alone to successfully run an away meet.
    • Greensprings Gators has 144 swimmers and 92 families.
    • It takes 1,382,938 bugs and  to successfully run a swim meet (apparently).

We LOVE our team and we LOVE summer swim, but we need every single family to jump in to make sure they are fulfilling those volunteer requirements. We still have about 20 families who have not signed up for any volunteer spots, so please go to the website or the Swimtopia app and sign up to volunteer. We have quite a few spots open for Monday's meet as well as our away meets. If you have ANY questions about the different jobs, please reach out and we will talk you through it! We will be sending the volunteer email on Sunday the 19th and would love those spots filled before it goes out.

    Here are a few reminders:

    • BUG SPRAY! I think we all learned that lesson this past week...
    • Encourage your swimmer to listen for when their age groups are called to clerk of course.
    • Please have your swimmers arrive at the pool at 4:30PM for warm ups. Swimmers will set up on deck, so make sure they have their towels, goggles, water and a chair. If your swimmer is younger and prefers to sit with you in the field, please be sure to listen closely when age groupings are being called to the clerk of course.
    • Remember to use the Swimtopia app to track your swimmer's events, heats and lanes for the meet. The coaches typically write this information in sharpie marker on the back of your swimmer's hand Monday morning at practice.
    • If you are NOT attending the meet tomorrow, hopefully you have responded to Coach Jenna's email to let her know. It's very important to communicate with her directly by responding to her email blasts so she can plan accordingly.
    • Parents will set up in the field beside the pool. PLEASE DO NOT SET YOUR TENTS UP DIRECTLY AGAINST THE FENCELINE. Leave room for a clear walking path between the fence and the first row of tents.
    • The Gator Grill will be stocked with pulled pork sandwiches (big thanks to Job Causey), burgers, hot dogs, walkin' tacos, snacks, fruit, pasta salad, gatorade, seltzer, water, soda, ice cream, candy and more! Don't worry about packing your dinner, just bring your wallets for an easy meal all while supporting our amazing team.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us by reminding your swimmer (and checking behind them) to pick up trash from the deck before we leave the pool. Cleaning up trash took a long time during tear down / clean up and there are other things that we need to do during that time. THANK YOU!!

Monday's weather looks BEAUTIFUL, so hopefully less sweat. See you at the SWAMP!
